# Kadal Deck

Lets your agent write and build MDX slide decks, then publish them with a room where the audience follows along on their phones.

## What it does

The server exposes the Kadal Deck engine to your agent. A deck lives in a single `deck.mdx` file: slides break at `---`, and components such as `<Poll>` or `<Clicks>` go in wherever you need them. `npx kadal-deck build` produces a static site, `npx kadal-deck export` writes PDF, PNG or PPTX, and `npx kadal-deck publish` puts the deck on deck.kadal.cc with a live audience room.

The engine ships 19 layouts with named slots, 16 light and dark themes, Shiki code highlighting that steps line by line, KaTeX and Mermaid. React and web components work out of the box; Vue, Svelte, Solid, Preact, Qwik, Angular, Fresh, Rust/WebAssembly and Python load as islands, each only when its slide appears. A presenter view carries notes and a timer, while the audience scans a QR code to react, ask questions and vote without installing anything.

Local builds want Node 20.19 or later, so `npm create @kadal/deck@latest` fails on older runtimes. An existing Slidev deck converts with `npx kadal-deck import slidev slides.md`, and the converter writes a report of whatever did not carry over — read it before you present.

## When to use it
- write a talk as one `deck.mdx` file
- export slides to PDF, PNG or PPTX
- run polls and audience questions from a QR code
- convert an existing Slidev deck
- show code with line-by-line highlighting

## Example prompts
- Build a deck from `deck.mdx` and add a poll slide about lunch
