# Just MCP Server

This MCP server lets an agent inspect and run recipes from a Justfile. Use it to expose project commands without asking the agent to work out Just syntax itself.

## What it does

Just MCP Server connects a Justfile to an agent through MCP. Its tools can list recipes, return a recipe’s documentation and parameters, check the file for syntax or semantic errors, and run a recipe with arguments. Results from execution are captured as structured output.

The Claude Code setup command starts the server in Docker with `ghcr.io/promptexecution/just-mcp:0.1.5`. Recipes are executable actions, so review what your Justfile allows before giving the agent access. This interface exposes Just recipes rather than unrestricted shell commands.
