## What it does

IT Glue MCP exposes the IT Glue API to an AI agent through `itglue-cli` and `itglue-mcp`. It also maintains a local SQLite copy, supports searches that span related resources, and provides analytics for documentation quality. The listed clients include Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed.

On macOS or Linux, run the installer from the repository, authenticate with IT Glue, and check the result with `itglue-cli --version`. Claude Code and Codex find the skill through `SKILL.md`. Do not use HTTP mode: this build has no password protection and listens on every network interface, so the server should use stdio transport.

## Requirements
- Environment variables: `ITGLUE_API_KEY`, `ITGLUE_BASE_URL` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
