## What it does

htmldrop turns HTML, Markdown, PDF, and image files into links that others can open. Markdown, text, and JSON become reader pages, while PDFs and images are delivered in their original form. Each published item receives its own subdomain, an expiry time, and a preview card.

The hosted MCP endpoint is `https://htmldrop.link/mcp`. Its `publish_html` tool accepts HTML, Markdown, or a remote URL, with optional title, TTL, password, and owner key fields. The same service also exposes REST publishing endpoints.

A self-hosted deployment needs `BASE_DOMAIN` and wildcard DNS for artifact subdomains. Storage can use the local filesystem or an S3-compatible service; ephemeral hosts need persistent storage or published files disappear after redeployment.
