## What it does

fanout connects an MCP client to `fanout:analyze_content_gap`. It reads a page, maps likely user questions to the available content, and marks covered, partial, and missing areas. The result includes an interactive dashboard plus a Markdown report with recommendations.

The server supports content-led analysis, keyword-focused analysis, and a keyword-only mode. A target keyword produces query variations for related meanings, specifications, comparisons, and follow-up questions. You can also narrow the analysis area, choose variant types, and adjust the requested depth.

An Anthropic API key is required to run it. Node.js 18+ is needed for a local build, while the setup command runs the package `@houtini/fanout-mcp` through `npx`. The server can be connected to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, or Gemini CLI.
