## What it does

helix-mcp-server exposes the Helix Ultimate Joomla template to your agent as MCP tools. Ask for a page layout, a mega menu setup, a code skeleton or an audit, and the agent picks the right tool on its own.

It runs straight from the npm package `@joomshaper/helix-mcp-server` via `npx`, so nothing gets installed globally. In Claude one line does it: `claude mcp add helix-mcp-server -- npx -y @joomshaper/helix-mcp-server`. Cursor and GitHub Copilot take the same launch command as a stdio server in their config files.

The tools target Helix Ultimate specifically, so on a different Joomla template there is nothing for them to act on. Node.js has to be present and `npx` reachable in `PATH`, or the server will not start.
