# HasData Google Maps

Extracts Google Maps places, reviews, reviewer activity, and photos as JSON without a Google Cloud account. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

## What it does

The server connects over HTTP directly or runs through local launchers in `npm` and `PyPI`. It provides structured JSON records for places: business hours, service types, price tiers, and links to menus or recent updates.

Search operations include `placeId` and `dataId` on every entry. Because of that, follow-up calls for photos or reviews do not need extra lookups. Individual reviews return a `contributorId`, which lets your agent inspect an author's complete review history in a single step.

Authentication requires a HasData API token. The free plan supplies 1,000 monthly credits with no credit card, covering 100 calls at 10 credits each. Without a valid key, requests will fail.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://mcp.hasdata.com/mcp?apis=google_maps`
- Environment variables: `HASDATA_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## When to use it
- search venues in a neighborhood and pull their ratings with website URLs
- fetch customer feedback with Google topic clusters and frequency counts
- audit a reviewer's full rating history using their `contributorId`
- retrieve venue photo streams and published business announcements

## Example prompts
- Find coffee shops in downtown Seattle and show the top ten by rating with their review counts and websites.
- Retrieve the opening hours, price tier, and menu link for place `ChIJAb0KE0RrkFQRuI4X0By5Mcw`.
- Check recent feedback for this spot and see what other locations the primary reviewer rated.
