# Graqle

Builds one knowledge graph from code and documents so the agent can answer with sources, and screens its actions against a decision gate.

## What it does

A scan turns a repository and a folder of documents into a single graph: `graq scan repo .` for code, `graq scan docs ./policies` for policies and ADRs, `graq learn knowledge` for a fact you type in. Then `graq run` returns an answer with a confidence figure and the sources it drew on. PDF, DOCX, PPTX and XLSX files need the extra `graqle[docs]` package.

The Decision Assurance Gate sits in front of agent actions. It hands back one of five outcomes (`EXECUTE`, `REPLAN`, `HOLD`, `REJECT`, `ESCALATE`) and writes a signed, hash-chained record. The gate stays off until `GRAQLE_DAG_ENABLED` is set, so a plain install changes nothing. Turning it on is real work: no thresholds, salts or keys ship with the package. You supply every `GRAQLE_DAG_*` value, an ed25519 signing key included. Miss one and the first settings load throws a configuration error naming the field, with no fallback.

A team can share a single graph. `graq mcp serve` runs the server over HTTP and each session reaches it through `graq mcp relay`, so the session holds a small relay rather than a full copy: on a 20,000-node graph, three standalone servers measured 687 MB against 493 MB for one server plus three relays. File work stays on each user's machine, and `--allowed-roots` scopes what the server may touch.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add graqle -- uvx graqle
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from graqle <command>

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add graqle -- uvx graqle
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from graqle <command>

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "graqle": {
            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "graqle"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from graqle <command>

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "graqle": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "graqle"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from graqle <command>

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add graqle uvx graqle
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from graqle <command>

## When to use it
- answer a question from code and policy with the sources attached
- merge docs, ADRs and a repository into one graph
- check an agent action before it runs and see why it was refused
- leave a signed record of every decision an auditor can verify
- share one graph across several agent sessions

## Example prompts
- Wire Graqle in through `.mcp.json` and tell me what approval a large refund needs
- Scan `./policies` and the repo, then answer what the vendor data access policy says
- Switch on the Decision Assurance Gate with `GRAQLE_DAG_ENABLED=1` and check the verdict for this action
