## What it does

This MCP server exposes three tools to your assistant: `search_news`, `top_stories`, and `get_article_text`. The search supports standard Google syntax such as exact quotes and `site:` filters, along with timeframe windows like `12h` or `7d`. Instead of Google redirect links, it delivers resolved publisher URLs with titles, sources, and publication dates.

Powered by `google-news-scraper`, running it via `npx` requires Node.js 20.19 or higher. Because `get_article_text` inspects raw HTML directly, pages behind paywalls or sites reliant on client-side JavaScript will fail. Burst querying can also trigger temporary IP rate limits from Google.
