## What it does

Google Maps MCP Server connects Google Maps Platform to an AI agent through 18 read-only tools. It can search for places and nearby results, return details, ratings, hours, reviews, and distances, then check routes, weather, and air quality. Composite workflows cover candidate comparison, along-route stops, trip planning, and local search visibility.

The server supports MCP over stdio or Streamable HTTP. It also includes three Skills and a standalone `exec` CLI that returns JSON. Set `GOOGLE_MAPS_ENABLED_TOOLS` to register a narrower tool set. Node.js 22+ and a Google Maps Platform API key are required, while selected workflows may need Places API (New), Routes API, or Geocoding API. Without `GOOGLE_MAPS_API_KEY`, the server will not start, and live Google calls may incur charges.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `GOOGLE_MAPS_API_KEY`, `GOOGLE_MAPS_ENABLED_TOOLS` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
