# mcp-server

## What it does

The server gives an agent tools to search prompts by meaning, browse a vault, inspect prompt settings, fill variables in a system prompt, and run it. Agents can save new prompts or add facts to memory prompts. They can also dispatch a brief to a named agent as an `.md` attachment in a paired Telegram chat. The vault includes agent blueprints.

On its first start, the server creates an agent account and stores its key at `~/.gildara/auto-key.json`; an existing `GILDARA_API_KEY` is optional. To connect that agent to a Gildara account, use the link code printed in the MCP logs. Resolved prompts are cached at `~/.gildara/cache/`, so agents can use cached results while the Gildara API is temporarily unreachable. Linking the agent to an account is needed to sync the vault.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `GILDARA_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
