## What it does

This server bridges Google Flow into the MCP ecosystem by driving a Playwright Chromium session. It submits prompts to Imagen for image synthesis and triggers Veo for text-to-video or image-to-video rendering. The tool also supports extending existing video clips beyond the default 8-second cutoff and tracking consistent characters across frames using prompt references.

Because Google Flow relies on browser session gates, the tool runs a persistent local browser instance signed into your personal Google account. Imagen generations do not cost anything in Flow, but Veo video generation directly consumes credits from your account balance.

A functional Google Flow login and local Playwright Chromium binaries are mandatory before starting. If Google changes web selectors during a run, execution halts immediately with a non-zero exit code to prevent wasting video credits.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Environment variables: `GFLOW_CLI_HOME` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
- Works with: Playwright

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env GFLOW_CLI_HOME=<GFLOW_CLI_HOME> --transport stdio gflow-cli -- uvx gflow-cli
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from gflow-cli <command>

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add gflow-cli --env GFLOW_CLI_HOME=<GFLOW_CLI_HOME> -- uvx gflow-cli
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from gflow-cli <command>

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "gflow-cli": {
            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "gflow-cli"
            ],
            "env": {
                "GFLOW_CLI_HOME": "<GFLOW_CLI_HOME>"
            }
        }
    }
}
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from gflow-cli <command>

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "gflow-cli": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "gflow-cli"
            ],
            "env": {
                "GFLOW_CLI_HOME": "<GFLOW_CLI_HOME>"
            }
        }
    }
}
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from gflow-cli <command>

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add -e GFLOW_CLI_HOME=<GFLOW_CLI_HOME> gflow-cli uvx gflow-cli
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from gflow-cli <command>

## When to use it
- generate videos with Veo directly from an AI coding agent
- run batch text-to-image prompts through Imagen without the web UI
- extend generated video clips past the standard 8-second limit
- maintain facial and body character consistency across multiple generations

## Example prompts
- Generate a cinematic video in Veo with a 16:9 aspect ratio from this prompt
- Create an image of a hot air balloon over Tokyo at sunrise using Imagen
- Check my remaining Veo credit balance in Google Flow
