## What it does

gate402-mcp is a public adapter for the Ogena gate402 x402 checkout API. Through MCP tools an agent can set the terms of a sale and then check whether the payment landed. The live endpoint sits at `https://api.ogenalabs.com/api/gate402`; verifying a payment costs nothing, while every checkout is billed at $0.01.

The repo holds tool schemas and docs only. `adapter/` is the stdio adapter with tool definitions for registry scoring, `docs/` carries the explanation, skill and manifests. Execution runs on the Ogena host, so there is no product logic to read here. A demo storefront at `https://api.ogenalabs.com/api/gate402/demo` lets you walk the flow before pointing it at a real shop.

Transport is HTTP and no API key is involved — billing for a checkout goes through the service itself. If your shop already takes payments some other way, that second channel stays separate: gate402 covers issuing terms and verifying a charge, nothing else.
