## What it does

The server links an AI agent to Gate exchange infrastructure using the MCP protocol over streamable HTTP. Its primary trading endpoint at `https://api.gatemcp.ai/mcp/exchange` includes over 400 tools. Through this interface, agents inspect balances and submit spot orders.

Gate splits its capabilities across distinct endpoints. General market data on `/mcp` requires no credentials at all. News feeds stay open as well. However, private operations demand Gate OAuth2 authorization. Without granting explicit scopes, trading tools and wallet transfers will fail.

## When to use it
- Query order books and candlestick charts without exchange credentials
- Create and cancel spot or futures orders through an AI agent
- Check unified account and sub-account balances
- Transfer assets between internal wallet accounts
