# FrelyMCP

FrelyMCP links an MCP client to a chosen computer and its shared workspaces. Use it when an agent needs remote access to files or processes.

## What it does

FrelyMCP gives an MCP client one account-level endpoint, `https://mcp.frely.cloud/mcp`, for computers connected through Frely. An agent can select a device, inspect or edit files, work with processes, and fetch web content. Access is limited to the workspaces you share.

Run `frely mcp start` on the computer, add the server to your client, and complete OAuth approval. The CLI can also expose local MCP servers, install Frely agents and skills, and publish a local Ollama or OpenAI-compatible runtime as a Frely provider.

The home directory is the default workspace; set `FRELY_WORKSPACE=/path` to share another path. A computer will not appear through FrelyMCP until `frely mcp start` is running on it.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mcp.frely.cloud/mcp`

## Install

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http frelymcp https://mcp.frely.cloud/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add frelymcp --url https://mcp.frely.cloud/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "frelymcp": {
            "url": "https://mcp.frely.cloud/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

        }
    }
}
```
### Gemini CLI
**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http frelymcp https://mcp.frely.cloud/mcp
```
## When to use it
- inspect and edit files in an approved workspace
- work with processes on a selected device
- expose a local MCP server to a remote client
- share a local model through Frely
## Example prompts
- Connect FrelyMCP to this project and show the top-level names in its workspace.
- Choose a device in FrelyMCP, read `README.md`, and list its active processes.
