# freeport-nostr

## What it does

\`freeport-nostr` gives an agent a way to search Nostr events. Queries can narrow results by event kind, tag, or distance around a geohash, with rides, services, and reputation listed as target data.

Claude Code can connect over HTTP to the hosted MCP endpoint or start the server locally with `npx -y freeport-nostr-mcp`. The stdio setup passes relay addresses through `FREEPORT_RELAYS`, so that value has to be prepared first. The server is also listed for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and the other supported platforms.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://nostr-mcp.trinh.uk/mcp`
- Environment variables: `FREEPORT_RELAYS` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
