## What it does

The server reads live device metrics and configuration files directly from FortiGate firewalls. Instead of checking firewalls manually, you can query client hardware status through your assistant in a single prompt.

The installer places `fortinet-cli` and the `fortinet-mcp` binary into your environment. Stick strictly to standard input and output (`stdio`). Running the server in `--transport http` mode is currently unsafe because this release lacks request size limits and timeouts.

## Requirements
- Environment variables: `FORTINET_BASE_URL`, `FORTINET_API_TOKEN`, `FORTINET_DEVICES`, `FORTINET_FMG_URL`, `FORTINET_FMG_API_KEY`, `FORTINET_CLOUD_API_USER`, `FORTINET_CLOUD_API_PASSWORD`, `FORTINET_CLOUD_REGION`, `FORTINET_CLOUD_ACCOUNT_ID`, `FORTINET_MCP_READ_ONLY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
