## What it does

financekit-mcp feeds market data to an agent: equities, crypto, indicators, asset comparison and portfolio analysis. Stocks and crypto need no API key — quotes come from Yahoo Finance, crypto from CoinGecko, and the indicators are computed locally with the `ta` library.

There are 12 tools. For stocks: `stock_quote`, `company_info`, `multi_quote` (up to 10 tickers in one call). For crypto: `crypto_price`, `crypto_trending`, `crypto_search`, `crypto_top_coins`. Technical analysis: `technical_analysis` (RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, SMA/EMA, ADX, Stochastic, ATR, OBV plus pattern detection such as Golden Cross and Death Cross) and `price_history` with historical OHLCV. Market overview: `market_overview` (S&P 500, NASDAQ, Dow, VIX). Portfolio and comparison: `compare_assets` and `portfolio_analysis`.

Two ways to run it. MCPize hosting skips the terminal and config files, with a free tier of 100 calls a month and paid plans from $9/mo. Self-hosting goes through `uvx` or `pip`, and then updates and uptime are yours to manage. Python 3.11+ is required.
