## What it does

This server runs the `figma-developer-mcp` package via `npx` to connect your coding assistant to the Figma API. Instead of sending raw JSON node trees, it strips redundant properties and forwards clean layout and style data. The model context stays focused.

You paste a link to a frame or group into the agent chat. The assistant fetches node attributes through the MCP connection and writes UI code in your target framework.

Without a valid `FIGMA_API_KEY`, the server cannot retrieve documents. Generate a personal access token in Figma before adding the server to your editor config.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `FIGMA_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
- Works with: Figma
