# Emaillistchecker.io Email Verification

Checks whether an address can receive mail before your agent sends anything: MX, SMTP, catch-all, disposable domains. Useful for signup forms and list cleanup.

## What it does

The server runs on the vendor's side, so there is nothing to install locally — you only point your client at `https://platform.emaillistchecker.io/mcp` over Streamable HTTP with JSON responses. No account is required to start: call the `get_api_key` tool from inside the agent and you get a key. It is displayed once, stays valid for 30 days, and after that you register again.

\`verify_email` handles a single address and returns one of four verdicts: `valid`, `invalid`, `risky` or `unknown`. A `risky` result covers catch-all domains, role and disposable mailboxes, plus Microsoft 365 addresses the receiving server could not confirm. For lists there is `verify_batch`, which takes up to 25 addresses per call and gives a verdict for each. `explain_result` turns a verdict into a plain-language explanation with a send recommendation, while `estimate_cost` and `get_credit_balance` let you check credits first.

A free agent key allows 25 verifications per day, and unused ones do not carry over. Rate limits apply: 10 requests per minute per key, with only one request in flight at a time. Once the shared daily pool for free keys runs out, the server returns HTTP 429 until 00:00 UTC. Inbox placement, blacklist monitoring and the email finder need a full account.

- drop dead addresses before a send goes out
- check a batch of signup emails at once
- spot a disposable mailbox among real ones
- get a plain explanation for a borderline verdict
- read the credit balance before a bulk run

## Example prompts
- Verify `user@example.com` and tell me if it is safe to send
- Run these 20 signup addresses through `verify_batch`
- Explain why this address came back as `risky`
