## What it does

email runs locally over stdio and exposes tools for sending messages through Amazon SES, checking domain verification and DKIM, viewing suppressed addresses, and inspecting SES sandbox status. It can also estimate sending costs. Recent-send history and full delivery events require the Wraps event pipeline, initialized with `npx @wraps.dev/cli email init`.

Set up AWS credentials and an SES account in the target region before starting. Sending is off until `WRAPS_WRITE_ENABLED=true` is set, and the sender must use a domain verified in SES. Recipient scope can be limited with `WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENTS`, `WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENT_DOMAINS`, and `WRAPS_MAX_RECIPIENTS`. The server exits at startup when no region is supplied through `AWS_REGION`, `AWS_DEFAULT_REGION`, or the active AWS profile.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `AWS_REGION`, `AWS_PROFILE`, `WRAPS_WRITE_ENABLED`, `WRAPS_FROM_EMAIL`, `WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENTS`, `WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENT_DOMAINS`, `WRAPS_HISTORY_TABLE_NAME` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env AWS_REGION=<AWS_REGION> --env AWS_PROFILE=<AWS_PROFILE> --env WRAPS_WRITE_ENABLED=<WRAPS_WRITE_ENABLED> --env WRAPS_FROM_EMAIL=<WRAPS_FROM_EMAIL> --env WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENTS=<WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENTS> --transport stdio mcp -- npx -y @wraps.dev/mcp
```
Replace <…> with your own values. 2 more environment variables are in the server README

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add mcp --env AWS_REGION=<AWS_REGION> --env AWS_PROFILE=<AWS_PROFILE> --env WRAPS_WRITE_ENABLED=<WRAPS_WRITE_ENABLED> --env WRAPS_FROM_EMAIL=<WRAPS_FROM_EMAIL> --env WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENTS=<WRAPS_ALLOWED_RECIPIENTS> -- npx -y @wraps.dev/mcp
```
Replace <…> with your own values. 2 more environment variables are in the server README

## When to use it
- send transactional email through Amazon SES
- check a sending domain’s verification and DKIM state
- inspect addresses on the SES suppression list
- find out whether the account remains in the SES sandbox
- retrieve delivery events for a message

## Example prompts
- Send a transactional email through SES with the subject “Invoice ready” and use the configured sender.
- Check verification and DKIM for the domain `example.com`.
- Tell me whether this SES account is in the sandbox and what the next first-send step is.
