## What it does

The server takes a structured course specification, validates it, renders accessible HTML, connects the content to a SCORM runtime, and creates a self-contained ZIP for SCORM 1.2 or 2004. A spec can define objectives, screens, quizzes, branching, and media. The usual flow calls `build_from_spec`, then `build_package` returns an archive containing `imsmanifest.xml`, `index.html`, and `assets/`.

The hosted MCP endpoint is `https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp`; access uses OAuth or an API key. Local operation runs with Python 3.11+, and Docker is also available. Video generation needs Node 22+, HyperFrames, and ffmpeg. On Apple Silicon, Docker can stop with `Illegal instruction`, so the documented workaround is `--platform linux/amd64`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Remote server: `https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http edumints-scorm-mcp https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add edumints-scorm-mcp --url https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "edumints-scorm-mcp": {
            "url": "https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "edumints-scorm-mcp": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http edumints-scorm-mcp https://scorm.edumints.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- compile a course into SCORM 1.2 or 2004
- validate a course specification before packaging
- add screens, quizzes, and branching
- produce an LMS-ready ZIP with a manifest

## Example prompts
- Build an interactive email-security course with a quiz and return a SCORM package.
- Use `build_from_spec` to create a four-screen course with assessment questions and a completion rule.
- Run `build_package` for the project and return the downloadable LMS archive.
