## What it does

EasyEDA Copilot brings native EasyEDA Pro and JLCEDA document automation to MCP clients. Agents can generate schematics directly from text, reorganize existing circuits into neat functional blocks, and arrange components across board layouts.

Edits stay completely interactive. Tracks and copper pours remain standard CAD elements rather than static graphics. The layout engine uses checkpoint-backed transactions, making it safe to experiment with routing before running native DRC checks.

Without EasyEDA Pro Desktop and its companion `.eext` extension, the server cannot interact with your CAD files. You must enable External Interactions inside the extension manager, and your local environment requires Node.js 20.19 or newer.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add easyeda-copilot -- npx -y easyeda-copilot-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add easyeda-copilot -- npx -y easyeda-copilot-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "easyeda-copilot": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "easyeda-copilot-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "easyeda-copilot": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "easyeda-copilot-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add easyeda-copilot npx -y easyeda-copilot-mcp
```

## When to use it
- assemble functional schematics in EasyEDA Pro from written requirements
- position components to respect keepouts, board edges, and antennas
- route signal and power nets with checkpoint-based rollback support
- verify layouts and resolve design rule violations with native DRC

## Example prompts
- Clean up this schematic by grouping parts into labeled blocks without breaking net connections
- Place components for the RF amplifier and add ground copper pours
- Route signal lines on the ESP32-C3 controller board and run a DRC check
