# DSAIL

DSAIL turns written policies into checks that a program can run consistently. Use it when document claims must be evaluated against explicit rules.

## What it does

DSAIL compiles a policy into a formal ruleset identified by a content hash. Your model extracts claim values, while the service evaluates each assertion and returns `TRUE`, `FALSE`, `UNKNOWN`, or `AMBIGUOUS`. Each result includes the assertion name and the rule text that produced it.

The hosted service does not receive the source document or call a language model. It creates extraction prompts, a claim schema, and validation rules for your own model to use. The MCP proxy adds a review-opening tool, while the package provides `dsail.Client`, `dsail mcp`, `dsail serve`, and `dsail init`. The local package requires Python 3.10 or newer.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Remote server: `https://agents.jaxon.ai/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http dsail https://agents.jaxon.ai/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add dsail -- uvx dsail
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from dsail <command>

### Codex

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add dsail --url https://agents.jaxon.ai/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add dsail -- uvx dsail
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from dsail <command>

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "dsail": {
            "url": "https://agents.jaxon.ai/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "dsail"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from dsail <command>
### GitHub Copilot
**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "dsail": {
            "type": "http",

            "args": [
                "dsail"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from dsail <command>
### Gemini CLI
1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http dsail https://agents.jaxon.ai/mcp
```
2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add dsail uvx dsail
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from dsail <command>
## When to use it
- compile a written policy into formal rules
- check document claims against those rules
- show which rule produced each result
- keep uncertain claims separate from false ones
- let your application decide what `FALSE` means
## Example prompts
- Compile the policy in `policies/expenses.dsail`, then show the review a person would approve.
- Extract claims from the document, check them against `policies/expenses.dsail`, and write the values to `claims.json`.
- Open the review UI for the compiled policy and return its link.
