## What it does

The server gives models over 53 operational tools for Apache DolphinScheduler. Agents can generate SQL tasks, assemble multi-node graphs, inspect execution logs, and roll back workflow definitions. It handles scheduling via cron, along with workflow pausing, resuming, and rerunning failed nodes.

The service starts inside Docker via `docker compose --profile dev up -d dolphin-mcp-pilot-dev`. It exposes an SSE endpoint on port 8001. Two authentication methods are available: an `X-DS-Token` header or username and password credentials. Each caller can pass its own headers in multi-tenant setups.

A reachable DolphinScheduler 3.x instance is strictly required. Without network access to the scheduler API, operations will fail immediately.

## Requirements
- Needs: Docker
- Environment variables: `DS_URL`, `DS_TOKEN`, `DS_USER`, `DS_PASSWORD`, `DS_TENANT_CODE` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Install**
- The MCP registry has no launch command for it: see the repository README

## When to use it
- inspect error logs for failing execution steps
- build and activate scheduled DAG workflows
- rerun failed pipeline executions from the failure point
- trigger ordered historical data backfills across date ranges

## Example prompts
- Create a daily SQL workflow, configure its cron schedule, and display the plan.
- Run a sequential data backfill from 2026-08-01 through 2026-08-07 starting at the validation task.
