# DevGlobe

A hosted MCP server over an open developer graph. Your agent searches people by skill, language and location, and can request an intro they approve.

## What it does

DevGlobe keeps a public graph of developers built from contribution signals rather than follower counts. Profiles carry a score across several dimensions, with repos and activity broken out, and the search layer runs on Azure Cosmos DB.

Nothing to host. The endpoint lives at `https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp` and accepts credential-free lookups of public profiles, so you can wire it up in a minute. Introductions work differently: the developer has to approve, and only verified agents can ask. Treat the server as a discovery tool first. Messaging comes later, if at all.

One command registers it in Claude; Cursor and Copilot take a JSON block. If your agent never needs to locate a person by stack or region, this adds little to a coding session.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp`

## Install

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http devglobe https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add devglobe --url https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "devglobe": {
            "url": "https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "devglobe": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http devglobe https://www.devglobe.dev/mcp
```

## When to use it
- locate a developer who works in a given stack and region
- check who commits most in a particular area
- pull a candidate's profile with repo breakdown
- ask a developer for an introduction through the agent
- rank several people on one scoring scale

## Example prompts
- Use DevGlobe to find Rust developers based in Berlin
- Show me the top-scoring JavaScript developer on DevGlobe
- Request an introduction to that developer via DevGlobe
