## What it does

This is a hosted service, not a package you run. Point any MCP client at `https://mcp.debitura.com/mcp` over streamable HTTP and authenticate with your Debitura API key in the `XApiKey` header, or as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. Keys come from `app.debitura.com`. There is no npm distribution — `@debitura/mcp-server` is marked private — so the hosted endpoint is the way in.

Read tools cover the day-to-day: `ping` to confirm the connection, `list_cases` and `get_case` for individual files, `get_case_activity` for the timeline, `get_case_messages` for the chat with the local partner, `get_case_payments` for money recovered, plus `get_case_contract_status`, `get_case_tasks`, `list_case_files`, `get_account_summary`, `list_tasks`, `preview_case` and `list_team_members`. Write tools are `create_case`, `upload_case_file` (documents up to 25 MB) and `send_case_message`.

Submitting a case is a legal and financial act. The tool description tells the assistant to run `preview_case` first and get your explicit confirmation before it submits; the submission itself is idempotent with an automatic `Idempotency-Key`, so a retry will not create a second case. Whether your client asks on its own depends on the client and its settings.

- read the thread with the local collection partner
- price a case and check eligibility before submitting
- pull the documents attached to a case
- file a new collection case from the agent chat
