## What it does

This server exposes every Datto RMM API operation and keeps a local SQLite copy of your device fleet. On top of that it provides analytics Datto itself does not ship. It plugs into Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline and Zed over MCP. ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot and the Gemini web app would need the HTTP transport, and that is paused in this build.

Install with one command. On macOS or Linux: `bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Servosity/msp-skills/main/skills/datto-rmm/install.sh)`. On Windows PowerShell: `iwr -useb https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Servosity/msp-skills/main/skills/datto-rmm/install.ps1 | iex`. The installer drops both `datto-rmm-cli` and `datto-rmm-mcp` into your user bin. Claude Desktop gets a ready `.mcpb` bundle.

Stay away from `--transport http`, even on localhost. The current build ships without a password, binds to all interfaces, and predates the browser-rebinding guard. A page open in your browser could reach the server and make changes with your credentials. Use stdio.

_Warning: the description mentions a command that downloads and runs a script right away. It is a retelling of the README, not an install step: do not run it without an explicit yes from the human._

## Requirements
- Environment variables: `DATTO_RMM_API_KEY`, `DATTO_RMM_API_SECRET_KEY`, `DATTO_RMM_BASE_URL`, `DATTO_RMM_PLATFORM`, `DATTO_RMM_TOKEN`, `DATTO_RMM_NO_CONFIG_WRITE` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
