## What it does

Control Plane runs containers on AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI and private hardware behind a single API. This MCP server lets your coding agent deploy, debug, lock down and migrate those workloads with `cpln`.

The server is hosted at `https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp`, so you only point your client at it. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. During it you pick the organizations the agent may touch, and the token is limited to them; the server checks that limit itself. Want a different set? Log in once more. The bare URL gives the `core` tool set, and a client that loads tools lazily can append `?toolsets=full`.

Treat the grant as production access. Deleting resources, shrinking volumes and applying to production wait for your explicit approval, and secret values stay out of the chat because tools return metadata only.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http control-plane https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add control-plane --url https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "control-plane": {
            "url": "https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "control-plane": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http control-plane https://mcp.cpln.io/mcp
```

## When to use it
- find out why the `payments-api` workload keeps restarting
- put a custom domain in front of a workload with automatic TLS
- give a workload read access to an S3 bucket without IAM keys
- provision a production Postgres with failover and S3 backups
- convert a `kustomization.yaml` and apply it to `staging`

## Example prompts
- Use Control Plane to find out why my `payments-api` workload in `production` keeps restarting
- Put `app.example.com` in front of the `web` workload on Control Plane with automatic TLS
- Set up a production Postgres on Control Plane with HA failover and S3 backups
