# Computer

Gives your agent a private computer: files and a bash shell that survive between runs. Useful when the agent needs to remember project state.

## What it does

Computer is a remote MCP server from pollinations. It connects over HTTP and hands the agent a working directory plus a bash shell. Whatever the agent leaves there is still there next time.

Setup is a single command, nothing runs locally: the server lives at `https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer`. It works with Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline and Zed, each with its own connection method.

This is remote storage, not a local sandbox. If your project has secrets or closed-source code that should never leave your machine, keep them out of that directory.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http computer https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add computer --url https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "computer": {
            "url": "https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "computer": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http computer https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/computer
```

## When to use it
- keep files across agent runs
- run bash commands from the chat
- hold a working directory the agent returns to later
- attach a remote computer to an agent with no local install
- carry intermediate artifacts from one session to the next

## Example prompts
- Save this script to the working directory and run it with bash
- List the files in my computer from last time
- Create `notes.md` and append this session's summary to it
