# compliance

Use the server to find which GDPR and EU AI Act requirements apply to a system, then get rules and implementation checklists. It also supports submitting evidence details for human review.

## What it does

compliance connects to an agent through a hosted remote MCP server. Its tools help scope applicable GDPR and EU AI Act requirements, retrieve rules and engineering checklists, scan a project, and follow review progress. The workflow covers planning, implementation, evidence submission, and status tracking.

The coding agent reads the repository locally; RuleMesh does not receive source-code contents. Evidence submissions include a description and relevant filenames, but they do not certify compliance or mark a requirement as verified. A person handles verification. Sign-in requires a RuleMesh account and uses browser-based OAuth; there is no API key to manage.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://api.rulemesh.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http compliance https://api.rulemesh.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add compliance --url https://api.rulemesh.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "compliance": {
            "url": "https://api.rulemesh.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "compliance": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://api.rulemesh.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http compliance https://api.rulemesh.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- identify GDPR requirements that apply to a system
- create an implementation plan for an application
- retrieve an engineering checklist for a data-export feature
- submit evidence descriptions and relevant filenames
- track scan sessions and human verification

## Example prompts
- Check whether the EU AI Act applies to this application and ask the questions needed to scope it.
- Create a prioritised GDPR implementation plan for this project.
- Compare this repository with the retrieved requirements and submit evidence descriptions with filenames only.
