## What it does

\`coding-standards` supplies project rules before an agent writes code and exposes checks during the development cycle. Its guidance covers dependency interfaces, separation between domain and infrastructure, SOLID principles, input validation, naming, and error handling. Testing is part of the expected implementation shape.

The server detects the stack and returns matching standards. You can adjust rules through `.corbat.json`. Its registration example separates the repository behind an interface, hashes passwords, uses a custom exception, and includes tests. The 20-line method limit and 200-line class limit are strict review constraints, so existing oversized units will need to be split.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add coding-standards -- npx -y @corbat-tech/coding-standards-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add coding-standards -- npx -y @corbat-tech/coding-standards-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "coding-standards": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@corbat-tech/coding-standards-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "coding-standards": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@corbat-tech/coding-standards-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add coding-standards npx -y @corbat-tech/coding-standards-mcp
```

## When to use it
- check implementation before code review
- give an agent explicit SOLID and layering rules
- separate dependencies behind interfaces
- require tests alongside a new use case
- inspect input validation and error handling

## Example prompts
- Review this service with `coding-standards` and list architecture violations.
- Refactor this module into layers, add dependency interfaces, and include tests under the project standards.
- Check the error paths and boundary validation in this implementation before handoff.
