## What it does

This MCP server connects your environment to KeepPlain (formerly Coders Talk). When an assistant gets stuck on repeated errors or tackles an unfamiliar task, it searches recorded developer sessions to see what went wrong and how others resolved it.

The integration also packages your active prompts, failures, and human interventions into private drafts. Nothing publishes automatically: only you or designated repository collaborators can inspect the drafts and decide whether to share them.

Old installations require a manual cleanup before setup. If the previous CLI remains active, its git and editor hooks conflict with the current build; run `coders-talk disable` and delete `~/.coders-talk` before proceeding.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://coders.talk/mcp`

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http library https://coders.talk/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add coders-talk --url https://coders.talk/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "coders-talk": {
            "url": "https://coders.talk/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
    "servers": {
        "coders-talk": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://coders.talk/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http coders-talk https://coders.talk/mcp
```

## When to use it
- Look up how other developers fixed agent errors during complex tasks
- Inspect human prompts and interventions from real coding runs
- Save local session logs and failures into private draft builds
- Import verified troubleshooting playbooks into repository rules

## Example prompts
- Search the session library for cases where developers ran into this build failure
- Check how other developers resolved Docker configuration issues in their sessions
