# codegworkspace-mcp

A hosted remote MCP server for coordinating AI coding agents in CodeG. It tracks active sessions, passes handoff notes between assistants, and exports audit-ready JSON summaries.

## What it does

The server operates remotely over Streamable HTTP to connect agent workflows in one workspace. It provides dedicated tools such as `register_agent_session` to log an active run and `read_workspace_roster` to inspect other agents. Output is structured as JSON receipts ready for verification.

When switching tasks between assistants, the `write_handoff_note` tool records context for the next agent. The `export_session_summary` tool compiles full session history when the run finishes. This keeps handoffs orderly across long tasks.

Production calls require a paid account and a bearer token from the provider site. Unauthenticated calls to `https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp` return a JSON error. The client configuration must include this token in the `Authorization` header to function.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http codegworkspace-mcp https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add codegworkspace-mcp --url https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "codegworkspace-mcp": {
            "url": "https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "codegworkspace-mcp": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http codegworkspace-mcp https://codegworkspace.clauxel.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- register an active agent session in a shared workspace
- transfer context between agents using handoff notes
- inspect the current roster of workspace agents
- export structured JSON summaries for session audits

## Example prompts
- Register this session in the workspace and check active assistants with `read_workspace_roster`.
- Write a handoff note via `write_handoff_note` summarizing the code changes for the next agent.
- Export the completed session log using `export_session_summary`.
