## What it does

The MCP server searches vendors by capabilities, cloud, integrations, and pricing model. It can compare up to four options, suggest alternatives, and surface recent directory changes. That gives you a way to narrow down tools for cloud cost management before reviewing vendors.

You need a CloudXray AI account with a verified email, and each account has a free monthly allowance of calls. The connection uses the remote server at `https://cloudxray.ai/mcp`. In Claude Code, add it with `claude mcp add`; Codex uses `codex mcp add`. Vendor information is gathered through automated research and reviewed by CloudXray AI, so confirm important details with the vendors themselves.
