## What it does

Cloudgate Workflow is a remote MCP server at `https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow`. It speaks Model Context Protocol over streamable HTTP, and every user signs in through OAuth 2.1 with authorization code and PKCE. Calls are scoped to that person's tenant and account, so no tokens or secrets sit in your project.

Most clients that accept remote MCP servers can connect: Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, Zed, Gemini CLI. The repo also packages a `cloudgate-builder` plugin for Claude, which carries the connection config and a `cloudgate-build` skill that walks the model through creating controllers, actions, graphs and databases.

The plugin talks native HTTP and needs a client with remote MCP OAuth support. It never spawns Node.js and does not use `mcp-remote`. Swap that config for an unpinned bridge command and your connection starts moving with whatever that bridge ships next — leave it as is.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http workflow https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add cloudgate-workflow --url https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "cloudgate-workflow": {
            "url": "https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "cloudgate-workflow": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http cloudgate-workflow https://api.cloudgate.dev/mcp/workflow
```

## When to use it
- scaffold a Cloudgate controller from a plain-language description
- wire actions together into a workflow graph
- create a database behind a new API
- list the controllers in your account and check their state
- edit an existing workflow without clicking through the dashboard

## Example prompts
- List my Cloudgate controllers
- Create a controller that accepts incoming requests and add an action to store them in the database
- Build a workflow graph: after an order is created, send the email and write the status
