## What it does

The server exposes three tools: API reference lookup, code generation from a natural-language request, and an interactive Entity configuration builder. Look up a class, method, or property to retrieve reference details. The generator covers tasks such as loading GeoJSON or 3D Tiles and adding map features; the builder accepts types including polygons, models, and polylines.

It communicates over MCP stdio and runs with `npx -y cesium-mcp-dev`. In Claude Code, add it with the command in the FAQ. The listed pairing for server version 1.145.x is Cesium around 1.145.0. Usage statistics are enabled by default, so disable them with `CESIUM_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=1`, `DO_NOT_TRACK=1`, or `--no-telemetry` if you don’t want them collected.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add cesium-mcp-dev -- npx -y cesium-mcp-dev
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add cesium-mcp-dev -- npx -y cesium-mcp-dev
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "cesium-mcp-dev": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "cesium-mcp-dev"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:

            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### Gemini CLI
**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add cesium-mcp-dev npx -y cesium-mcp-dev
```
## When to use it
- look up methods and properties in the Cesium API
- generate TypeScript snippets from a task description
- build an Entity configuration with chosen properties
- create code for loading GeoJSON or 3D Tiles
## Example prompts
- Look up the `Cesium3DTileset` API and show how to load one.
- Write TypeScript code to add a marker to my CesiumJS map.
- Build a polygon Entity with color `#0066ff` and opacity `0.5`.
