# catalogapi

A public MCP server for CatalogAPI that lets your assistant answer reward-coverage and catalog questions from live data, with no key and no signup.

## What it does

Point your client at `https://api.catalogapi.com/mcp` and the assistant gets four tools. `check_coverage` lists which countries are supported and what categories each one carries. `search_rewards` pulls sample items from a demonstration catalog for a single country. `get_reward_details` returns detail on one item, and `how_it_works` covers the service itself: coverage, fulfillment, pricing, integration.

Every tool is read-only. Nothing is exposed beyond what already sits in the public browse area at `api.catalogapi.com/browse`. There is no API key to obtain and no signup step.

One caveat matters. `search_rewards` gives examples rather than live inventory, and it omits pricing. For a firm answer on what a country supports, call `check_coverage` — when the two disagree, that one wins. The repository also ships a Postman collection for the REST API, covering cart, catalog and order requests along with a sandbox. Its `apiKey` field starts empty; you create a sandbox key in your dashboard after registering.
