# Cantara wiki — community knowledge web

A remote MCP server that hands your agent the Cantara open source wiki: 2,290 articles from 2008 to 2022. Useful when you need background on Norwegian open source work.

## What it does

The server speaks HTTP and serves the archive as a signed KCP knowledge web. Its articles come from the Cantara community wiki that used to run on Confluence at wiki.cantara.no. The content was recovered from a Wayback Machine snapshot, last captured in 2022. A live copy of the wiki sits at cantara.github.io/wiki.

Nothing gets installed on your machine — the agent talks to the remote endpoint `https://mcp.cantara.no/mcp`. Running your own copy of the wiki is a separate job: it needs `mkdocs` and `mkdocs-material`, installed with `pip install mkdocs mkdocs-material`, then started with `mkdocs serve`.

The archive stops at 2022, so recent edits are not in there. Fine as a source on project history and older material; wrong tool if you need the current state of anything.
