# Canli Capital

Connect an agent to financial data and analysis tools for market research, SEC filings, portfolios, and strategy tests. Useful when a coding assistant needs to check figures or explore market data.

## What it does

Canli Capital brings 345 finance tools behind five MCP functions. An agent can locate a tool, inspect its schema, then run it. The available work spans portfolio risk, options, strategy backtests, SEC and European filings, macroeconomic data, stock and crypto prices, DeFi metrics, and prediction-market odds.

The server can compare figures in a draft with SEC filings and test backtests for overfitting or data leakage. Some results can appear as interactive charts and tables. The hosted service retains no state between requests, so related calls need to run together in one `run_tool` batch.

Connect over HTTP to use the hosted service, or launch the local package with `npx -y canli-mcp`. File arguments and price data require the local version; Alpaca paper trading requires broker credentials. Those keys are needed for trading, not for every server feature.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://canlicapital.com/mcp/canli`
- Environment variables: `CANLI_PACKS`, `CANLI_OFFLINE`, `ALPACA_PAPER_KEY_ID`, `ALPACA_PAPER_SECRET_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## When to use it
- check financial claims against SEC filings
- compare company figures across earlier reports
- inspect portfolio and options risk
- test a backtest for overfitting and data leakage
- retrieve rates, prices, and macroeconomic series

## Example prompts
- Compare the figures in this financial draft with SEC filings and flag claims that the filings do not support.
- Test this strategy for overfitting and data leakage, then show the backtest results.
- Compare these companies' performance and chart changes in their financial metrics.
