## What it does

Call Copilot exposes locally saved meeting transcripts to an MCP client over stdio. The server is read-only and does not make network requests. When it answers a question, it includes the relevant session ID so you can trace the result back to a recording.

The companion `rec` command records audio, performs local transcription, and writes Markdown files. Creating those recordings requires macOS 14.2 or later; on older macOS versions, `rec` will refuse to run. Claude Code can launch the MCP server with `uvx`, and the setup does not require an API key.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)

```bash
codex mcp add call-copilot -- uvx call-copilot
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from call-copilot <command>

### Cursor

## When to use it
- search past meetings by transcript content
- ask questions about a recorded discussion
- trace an answer to its session ID
- read local meeting notes from Claude Code

## Example prompts
- Search the local transcripts for the meeting where database migration was discussed.
- Compare the decisions in the two latest sessions and include their session IDs.
- What did the team say about the authentication issue? Support the answer with the transcript.
