## What it does

browser-use connects an agent to browser automation for tasks like finding information on pages, extracting data, and filling forms. It supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed.

Claude Code can connect through a local `uvx` process or to the hosted server over HTTP. The local setup requires `uvx`; both options register an MCP server named `browser-use`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Remote server: `https://api.browser-use.com/v3/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add browser-use -- uvx browser-use
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from browser-use <command>

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http browser-use https://api.browser-use.com/v3/mcp
```

### Codex

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add browser-use --url https://api.browser-use.com/v3/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add browser-use -- uvx browser-use
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from browser-use <command>
