## What it does

The server runs locally over stdio. The installer drops two binaries into your user bin path: `bitdefender-cli` and `bitdefender-mcp`. Claude, Codex and Cowork pick up the skill from `SKILL.md` in that directory.

On macOS and Linux the install is `bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Servosity/msp-skills/main/skills/bitdefender/install.sh)`. On Windows run `iwr -useb https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Servosity/msp-skills/main/skills/bitdefender/install.ps1 | iex`. Then authenticate as the README describes and check the CLI with `bitdefender-cli --help`.

Stay off HTTP mode (`--transport http`), localhost included. This build validates a token but caps neither request size nor execution time. The MCP tools also act with your credentials, so tear down any tunnel you opened for a remote agent. The project is unofficial and has no ties to Bitdefender SRL.

_Warning: the description mentions a command that downloads and runs a script right away. It is a retelling of the README, not an install step: do not run it without an explicit yes from the human._

## Requirements
- Environment variables: `BITDEFENDER_BASE_URL`, `BITDEFENDER_API_KEY`, `BITDEFENDER_USER_AGENT`, `BITDEFENDER_MCP_READ_ONLY`, `BITDEFENDER_MCP_HTTP_TOKEN`, `PRINTING_PRESS_CLIENT_PROFILE` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Install**
- The MCP registry has no launch command for it: see the repository README

## When to use it
- check endpoint health across every child company
- call GravityZone API methods from inside the agent
- pull billing and incident data for several clients at once
- confirm the CLI and MCP server installed correctly
- manage endpoint protection without opening the web console

## Example prompts
- Show fleet health for all child companies
- Which incidents are open for this client this week?
- Call the GravityZone API method that lists endpoints
