## What it does

This server connects your AI agent to Better Stack Uptime and maintains an offline SQLite copy of fleet metrics. It answers cross-resource questions that the raw API cannot handle alone, such as locating unassigned on-call shifts or tracking flapping monitors.

The package bundles the `betterstack-cli` binary together with the `betterstack-mcp` server. Your agent interacts with these executables locally through the stdio transport.

Do not run the HTTP mode with `--transport http`. That mode lacks authentication and listens on every network interface. Stdio transport remains the only safe operational choice.

## Requirements
- Environment variables: `BETTERSTACK_API_TOKEN`, `BETTERSTACK_BASE_URL` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

- Track ongoing service outages and notify active on-call staff
- Detect unmonitored infrastructure assets and missing shift coverage
- Calculate incident response metrics such as MTTA and MTTR from local mirrors
- Pinpoint flapping status alerts and outdated status-page entries
