## What it does

Basedash MCP is a remote server that hands your agent access to a Basedash workspace. Ten tools ship with it. `ask_question` queries live data and returns a governed answer, `get_data_sources` lists what the workspace holds, and `create_dashboard`, `edit_dashboard`, `create_chart` plus `edit_chart` build and modify dashboards and charts, returning the Basedash URL and a screenshot link where one exists. Reading is covered too: `list_dashboards`, `get_dashboard`, `list_charts`, `get_chart`.

Transport is Streamable HTTP and auth runs through browser OAuth, so no API key is involved. There is a single endpoint: `https://charts.basedash.com/api/public/mcp`. Point your client at it and finish the OAuth prompt.

The server is listed in the official MCP Registry as `com.basedash/mcp`. If the OAuth handshake fails in your client, none of the tools will show up — worth confirming before you build a workflow on top of them.
