## What it does

The server exposes Base JSON-RPC to your agent through MCP. The free tier covers 10 requests per minute; beyond that you pay in USDC at $0.50 per 10k requests. Failover between nodes, response caching and a usage ledger are built in.

It connects over HTTP transport at `https://basebalance.cloud/mcp`. In Claude that is one command: `claude mcp add --transport http basebalance https://basebalance.cloud/mcp`. Cursor and GitHub Copilot take a JSON config entry in their MCP settings file.

Payment runs in USDC, so a funded wallet is needed before the first paid request. Without it you get the free 10 requests per minute and nothing past that. Worth knowing if your agent fires many Base calls in a row.
