## What it does

axe MCP Server exposes two tools to an AI coding agent. `analyze` uses axe to inspect web pages for accessibility problems. `remediate` returns code-focused guidance for addressing those findings, and the connected agent can apply source changes automatically.

The setup requires Docker, a paid Axe DevTools for Web subscription, an axe MCP Server API key, and an MCP-compatible client. Supported clients include Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI. Docker is required, so the server cannot run without it.

## When to use it
- scan a web page for accessibility issues
- locate accessibility violations with axe
- get source-code guidance for reported findings
- let an agent apply accessibility fixes to the code

## Example prompts
- Scan this web page for accessibility issues and list the findings.
- Use axe to inspect the interface and suggest fixes in the source code.
- Find accessibility problems and apply the corresponding source changes.
