# atoma

Coordinates AI agents to build web apps, APIs, and CLI tools, tracking execution steps in real time. Useful for turning software requests into working prototypes directly from your editor.

## What it does

This server links your editor to the atoma engine over MCP. Specialized agents plan development, generate source files, spin up temporary servers, and evaluate the output against acceptance checks. Completed phases remain in the workspace. If a run hits budget limits, atoma marks it incomplete instead of discarding progress.

Teams can inspect web builds in an isolated preview environment before publishing code to GitHub. Because the platform is actively evolving and lacks an independent security audit, sending sensitive files or private data into goals is unsafe. Runs also draw against your configured model account quotas.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://atoma.run/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http atoma https://atoma.run/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add atoma --url https://atoma.run/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "atoma": {
            "url": "https://atoma.run/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "atoma": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://atoma.run/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http atoma https://atoma.run/mcp
```

## When to use it
- generate an API prototype with verified acceptance checks
- build web applications and test them in isolated preview environments
- monitor multi-agent execution steps and model token costs
- resume incomplete projects without losing previous phases

## Example prompts
- Use atoma to generate a REST API prototype and verify the endpoints.
- Check the status and model costs of the current atoma build run.
- Create an operations dashboard project in atoma and generate preview links.
