## What it does

This MCP server connects Claude Code to Bitbucket Data Center. You can ask an agent to work with repositories and code there. It runs through the `@atlassian-dc-mcp/bitbucket` package using `npx`.

Provide `BITBUCKET_API_TOKEN` to authenticate; set the server address and API path with `BITBUCKET_HOST` and `BITBUCKET_API_BASE_PATH`. You can also run `npx @atlassian-dc-mcp/bitbucket setup` to enter the connection details and test them. Add the server to Claude Code with `claude mcp add`. A reachable Bitbucket host and a valid token are required for the connection to work.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `ATLASSIAN_DC_MCP_CONFIG_FILE`, `BITBUCKET_HOST`, `BITBUCKET_API_BASE_PATH`, `BITBUCKET_API_TOKEN` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
- Works with: Atlassian

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env ATLASSIAN_DC_MCP_CONFIG_FILE=<ATLASSIAN_DC_MCP_CONFIG_FILE> --env BITBUCKET_HOST=<BITBUCKET_HOST> --env BITBUCKET_API_BASE_PATH=<BITBUCKET_API_BASE_PATH> --env BITBUCKET_API_TOKEN=<BITBUCKET_API_TOKEN> --transport stdio atlassian-dc-mcp-bitbucket -- npx -y @atlassian-dc-mcp/bitbucket
```
Replace <…> with your own values

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add atlassian-dc-mcp-bitbucket --env ATLASSIAN_DC_MCP_CONFIG_FILE=<ATLASSIAN_DC_MCP_CONFIG_FILE> --env BITBUCKET_HOST=<BITBUCKET_HOST> --env BITBUCKET_API_BASE_PATH=<BITBUCKET_API_BASE_PATH> --env BITBUCKET_API_TOKEN=<BITBUCKET_API_TOKEN> -- npx -y @atlassian-dc-mcp/bitbucket
