## What it does

This server lets your AI assistant control mobile screens and desktop apps directly. The agent can type, tap, swipe, use TV D-pads, or send mouse clicks. It records end-to-end user flows and compares visual baselines while staying aware of typography and OCR output.

React Native projects work without extra steps. Profiling integrations cover Hermes and Xcode Instruments to pinpoint UI freezes or high CPU usage. The agent can also inspect network traffic from `fetch` or `axios`, inspect the React component tree, and evaluate JavaScript code on the fly.

Software Mansion applies a dual-license setup here. The repository code uses Apache-2.0, but binaries like `simulator-server` and `.dylib` components remain proprietary and forbid redistribution. Telemetry is enabled out of the box, though running `argent telemetry disable` turns it off.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add argent -- npx -y @swmansion/argent
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add argent -- npx -y @swmansion/argent
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "argent": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@swmansion/argent"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:

                "-y",
                "@swmansion/argent"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### Gemini CLI
**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add argent npx -y @swmansion/argent
```
## When to use it
- reproduce UI bugs on iOS simulators or Android devices
- record and replay deterministic E2E test flows
- trace network traffic across fetch and axios calls
- profile rendering hangs and CPU hotspots using Hermes
## Example prompts
- Launch the app on the iOS simulator and tap the checkout button
- Inspect network requests on the settings screen and check for failed API calls
- Run a CPU profile on the feed screen to find frame drops
